Following a successful academic career, Zach Pilchen is now an experienced attorney in environmental law. Zach Pilchen graduated with honors from the master of laws in energy and environmental law program at George Washington University. Leveraging its location in Washington, DC, the institution’s law school created the Sustainable Energy Initiative.
The program’s mission is to influence the development of laws and policies for environmentally sensitive energy production. It will also promote debate, conduct research, and help students, governmental agencies, and industry leaders share ideas. The initiative plans to work alongside the university’s other schools by offering financial support for student projects, setting up internships and externships, and aiding career planning.
In addition, it is intended to boost the law school’s reputation by attracting top students its environmental energy law department. Courses reflect concerns such as international law and dispute resolution. Students can study other domains that affect energy law, such as administrative and corporate law, rules of evidence, and transactional law.
